DVI making static noise?
I have a Wii U and my 970 plugged into an Acer GN246HL. The Wii is using HDMI and the PC DVI. When I use an aux cable to line the audio from HDMI to my motherboard, a horrible static noise can be heard. But when I unplug the DVI connection, everything is fine. plz help fix.

probably the monitor; not having proper ground or shielding for the 3.5mm audio jacks.

Can you output the audio directly from the Wii U via Analog? Like RCA-to-3.5mm

Actually, when I plug directly into the monitor with headphones, it's fine.

The only way to do that is to go full analog on the Wii, including the video outputs.

You sure you plugging the 3.5mm into the right jack on the monitor? There is usually two. Also what about the PC-side, should plug into "Line In" (Blue) then just go to Playback in Windows > Speakers > Levels and un-mute the Line In and adjust the volume.

It's another reason I never use onboard audio; it's pure junk.

But you could also have a poor ground in the PC that is allowing such noises to go through the DVI cable and enter the monitor; thus coming out from the audio jacks on the monitor.

As for the Wii; you just need the analog cable; it should allow Analog Audio whilst still using HDMI for Video. You can on Xbox/PlayStation
