[Help] Tower Upgrade
I have an Alienware x51 R2 early 2013 model. I want to pretty much gut my system and move it to a bigger tower than the x51 tower. I want to do it for future graphics cards and more room. The problem I have is I'm not sure what type of tower would be compatible with my motherboard. I know upgrading the motherboard and tower would be easier, but like most I'm on a budget. Also found out the Alienware 0PGRP5 board IS a mini-ITX board. If that helps with anything. I'm just not sure where to start. I have been looking and I would like to get a Corsair Graphite Series 780T. Just not sure if it will hold my motherboard. Any help is always appreciated.

Specs:

Motherboard: Alienware 0PGRP5
BIOS: A02
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 3.6ghz
Memory: 8gb DDR3 Ram (Planning on upgrading)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960
PSU: Dell AC/DC Adapter 330w

x51 with the 330w power brick can run upto a 150w gpu

get a gtx 970 thats around 9.5in long

that will fit in its case

I did think about that option. However, I was looking to eventually upgrading to a gtx 980. But I also found there will be a gtx 1080 and 1070.

If the 330W Power brick is too weak or the case too small, you should just sell your current PC on Ebay and build your own. It's not worth taking apart the PC and moving it to a new case when you are limited to such a weak PSU.

I don't plan to sell my pc then build anew. For some it is more logical, I'm just trying to stay within my means. The 330w brick I have isn't weak. I'm just looking for a temporary setup until I am able to upgrade to a new motherboard then look into upgrading my pc even further.

if you transplant the x51 mobo into an atx/itx case you can install any power supply and gpu into it without any problems

the x51 mobo has a standard itx layout
with 24pin atx and 4pin eps power connectors

the x51 case has the 12v - atx/eps/sata/pci-e power converter

Would a "Thermaltake Core V21 Black Extreme Micro ATX Cube Chassis CA-1D5-00S1WN-00" be compatible?
