A10 7860k Gaming
My friend is thinking of getting into pic gaming, but he has an extremely small budget. I was wondering if you could tell me how the a10 7860k w/ 2x4 2133mhz ram would perform in games like csgo, guns of Icarus, and rust.

The games should run, but likely not at the best quality.

Any idea on what settings? He's been driving me crazy asking me to look at the forums for answers but no cant find any.

Does he have a dedicated GPU as well? Running most games on an APU exclusively is a pretty bad idea.

He only has the apu. He's in high school, so money doesn't come by frequently :steammocking:

Guess it's better to stick to the consoles then.

Yeah.........but seriously, how bad would it be to play it on those games? I know it could max out csgo, most likely run guns of Icarus on med-high settings, and I THINK it could run rust on low-med

here is just apu but upgrading to a dedicated gpu at least in the future (shouldnt be too hard financially to add it later) will be better.. but kudos to the fact that you seem to understand it needs fast memory becuase so many ppl running with 1333 single channel..

the fast ram does help the apus gpu but not by enough

go for an i3 or pentium g with a dedicated card if on a very low budget
then you can atleast upgrade to an i5 and any dedicated gpu

Name a realistic budget range, and we'll try to work around that as best as the user's local market and sites allow for and post some build suggestions. That's much better overall than saying "buy this or buy that"

Also tell us if the build needs to include any extras; such as:
- OS (you can download and install Win10 and use that as-is) or install a Linux distro
- Monitor or HDTV
- Keyboard, Mouse, Controller
- Speakers, Headphones, Mic, Webcam, Wireless Card/Adapter, ... etc.

My friend needs a monitor, keyboard and mouse, an os, etc. Basically, he's building everything from nothing for sub $500

I appreciate your time and effort, but in my country it's over $520, and doesn't include an os.

whats your budget (currency/location)
do you need an os?
or any accessories? (monitor, keyboard, mouse, controller, wifi nic, speakers)
do you have any components you can reuse? (ram, drives, case, psu ect..)
