So I just bought this headset that was dubbed as an all purpose mic it was not. It is an Xbox360 mic which is fine I bought the necessary adapters to make it work and it does.....to a degree. My audio comes in clear and it sounds great but the issues are that if i choose to use the steam chat with my friends I lose all audio from everywhere else which is a problem. I've had this issue before with a turtle beach headset but can't remember how I fixed it it was a P11. If anyone can help with this that'd be great. It's probably an easy fix and a matter of tweaking a setting I lossed over. It also works in game when I'm not using the steam chat function so is it a steam issue?

Aren't Turtle Beach headphones for consoles only strictly? You could always check headphones forums based off that brand elsewhere.

No the P11 was dubbed as corss platform and it was. This one was as well what they didn't say is that it needs adapters but I'm getting audio and voice just now then I uses steams deticated chat which makes me think its either some minor setting I can't find or a steam issue

there are ways to use them on pc as well
they use 2-3 audio devices, 1 for game sounds, 1 for voip, some have 1 for music
and have a box to mix them

to disable windows audio ducking, right click ont he speaker in tray near clock -> recording devices -> communication tab -> do nothing

steam uses windows audio settings
