AMD FX 8350 and MSI 960 4GB, getting low FPS for most games.

The other day I upgraded my PC. Before I used to have an. AMD A10 5800K APU. When I upgraded, I got a AMD FX 8350 and an MSI 960 4GB. I tried playing games like TF2, Gmod, and World at War, and I noticed the FPS are a lot lower than before. Games like Gmod and TF2. would normally get over 100-200 FPS,but know they can barely get over 50. World at War isn't that bad, before it used to get about 90-100 now it gets about 60-80. I don't know what the problem is, I have the most recent NVIDIA drivers and I made sure to delete the old drivers, I also have v sync turned off. I know I should be getting FPS, can somebody please tell me how I can fix this problem?

Did you connect the monitor to the graphics card and not motherboard?

Yeah, sounds like you use the integrated graphics, switch connector from the motherboard one to the graphics card one.

what exactly will that do?

show us what mobo you have and any overclocks

not all boards are capable of properly running 125w fx cpus

[upcoast]

1st set win power option to High in control panel.

2nd, boot to bios and turn off turbo core, cool n quiet and c1e.

3rd, if you've got an after market cpu hsf like the 212evo jack up cpu volts in bios to about 1.35-1.36v then move the multi to 22x200.

Hopefully you're running win 10 and not 7.

PS.What a calamity of non readers, unplug the gpu from the integrated mobo gpu what a laugh the msi 970 nor the FX8350 even have igp, most of you guys should start actually reading the posts you're responding to...

Like I said disable all the mickey mouse power saving crud in bios, your ram is running in single channel and it's mismatched so you can't get dual channel out of it, also the 1333mhz ram speed is slow compared to 1600 or 1866mhz ram speed. FX8350 supports 1866mhz ram get a set of that be it 2x4GB or 2x8GB preferably cl9.

Alright I disabled everything you said I shoud and set the power to high.

disable c1 and c&q features
and set the core voltage to 1.1-1.2v

will stop it from underclocking and undervolting when idle

or better yet, if you bought the new fx cpu and board to upgrade the apu build
return them and get an i5 and board

stop bashing amd on every post and your amd knowledge is terrible 1.1v is a large undervolt and prolly wouldnt even boot at that voltage @ stock speeds..

the mismatched ram is a bad idea with this build running @ 1333 single chan.

You'll need to install new graphics drivers and uninstall the old ones. If you didn't do that no wonder your performance is poor because GPUs don't work well without drivers.
