Need help about Resolution Switching
My monitor is 60 Hz by default but it somehow supports 75 Hz unoffically and I mostly play PES 2016 at 75 hz in windowed mode because it fairly reduces online input lag if I play at 75 hz/75 fps while I get a bit weird screen tearing/lag/choppyness/or whatever you call it with that configuration but as long as it can be played less-input laggy I'm ok with that for PES 2016 so that's not the case. The problem is (which I felt completely certain recently) if I use different resolutions/manual settings other than EDID (Extended display identification data) most of my games will be input laggy/choppy/teary even when I set graphical settings to nearly lowest (so that isn't FPS problem but something different). I was using HRC (Hot Key Resolution Changer) to quickly switch between 60 Hz and 75 Hz with hotkeys whenever I play or quit PES 2016 but as I mentioned I noticed that even if I play at 60 Hz (which is my monitor's default refresh rate so it should be ok to play with that refresh rate) most of my games will still be input laggy (such as CS:GO) because of not using EDID (automatical) settings and that is quite big problem for competitive games since timing is important there. Problem dissappears if I use EDID settings (default 60 Hz) but if I disable EDID to manually add 75 Hz to play PES 2016, some games will be laggy even if I play them at non-EDID default 60 Hz refresh rate. So since I know I have no problem with games other than PES 2016 if I let EDID to set my resolution automatically I will have to disable EDID than create 75 Hz custom resolution whenever I want to play PES 2016 and as soon as I shut down the game I will need to get back to EDID mode in order to prevent problems. You may say that I have a problem about my PES 2016 configuration and I should simply run that game at EDID-60 hz setting (the setting which I use in every other game except PES 2016) but believe me that game is really sucky and playing it at 75 hz is the best option for me.

So here's my request: Is there a way to create some kind of shortcut which would let me quickly switch to EDID mode and 75 Hz non-EDID mode? I would really appreciate if there is a way and you share it here because it will be pain in the a..ss for me to change my settings every time I play or quit PES 2016. Thanks in advance.

Alot of 60Hz displays support 75Hz or so; but generally only at lower res.
For example, I have an ASUS VE278 (27-inch, 1920x1080) Monitor handy here.
And it supports 75Hz, but only when using 1440x900 or less
So generally, u will never have access to that since you would want to always run @ 1080p on this display, given that is the native screen res.

If you really want higher than 60Hz, research/buy a 144Hz Monitor; and be sure you use the latest spec of HDMI or DisplayPort off your GPU; and that the GPU is new enough to support it.

DisplayPort is much preferred for PC-Gaming on higher-end setups; which is why a majority of GPUs now come with approx outputs of 1x HDMI + 3x DisplayPort. So that technically you could do 3x NVIDIA Surround / AMD Eyefinity using 3x Monitors via the 3x DisplayPorts; then if needed, a 4th screen via HDMI, like an HDTV for example.

Firstly thank you very much for your response! The problem is more about software not hardware. Yes you are right my monitor is able to run 75 Hz at 1440x900 resolution but that is already my monitor's max supported resolution so it's ok. I neither have Full HD monitor nor thinking to get one soon since I'm jobless and poor atm. I need some kind of tricky shortcut which would let me quickly switch to EDID (automated resolution-60 Hz) mode whenever I shut down PES 2016 and another shortcut that will de-activate EDID and set the resolution to 75 Hz because I have to change those settings whenever I run/shut down PES 2016.

I know those settings are stored somewhere with texts like X:0, X:1 but I'm not a programmer so I don't know where to find them and write a software that will act as shortcut.

I have no idea what all this EDID and PES stuff is... so yea, whatever...

Desktop Res is different from Game Res. Each can be setup different.

Game lagging is FPS, not the refresh.

Disable any VSync
