[solved]Can I force a pre-widescreen game to run at a widescreen Resolution?

I have a lot of older games, including a whole bunch of disc-based ones that predate my 16:9 monitor. They don't support widescreen resolutions at all. Can I somehow adjust settings through the install to force/enable that, or should I just look for an older monitor for retro gaming?

Grab yourself 2 little programmes Widescreen Fixer and Flawless Widescreen they have quite a few fixes for older games.

There are even some games where the community itself crated some resolution mods to adapt the game to more modern resolution
(For example on Star Wars knights of the old republic there is one of those.
Or for DooM there is an emulator called "chocolate DooM" that supports different resolutions)
So check different community for those games and I'm sure you will find something that can help you :)
