How to install motherboard standoffs?
I have the Zalman Z1 Neo case and it comes with 6 standoffs installed but I need 9 standoffs. So I need to install 3 more. At first I tried to install the standoffs by hand but they appeared a bit crooked compared to the already installed ones. Oh, and I have the Asus z170-a motherboard if that should help.

Thanks.

Look at your mobo stand-off holes and align it to the case mobo tray and look at the missing stand-off now you know which is missing. Now just screw the remaining stand-off into the case mobo tray done.

I know where to install the standoffs I just need to know how. It sounds like a stupid question but I am new to pc building.
You just screw the standoffs into the proper holes aligned with the motherboard screw holes.
You can tighten the standoffs with pliers if they are sitting too loose after you have done this by hand. Just make sure that the standoffs are lining up perfectly with the motherboard holes and wont touch any circuitry on the board.
Use your fingers. They don't need to be that tight.
Usually fingers will be enough but sometimes the hole might not have perfect thread. If you use pliers dont use excessive force so you dont destroy the threads.
read the manual for the case
it will say what standoff locations should be used for the board
on the board, look for atx, m-atx/u-atx, itx, e-atx and follow that pattern

or look at the board and see where the standoffs need to go in the case to match
do not use standoff locations that the board does not have mounts for
