Floor or Desk?
My computer's CPU is always running at about 50°C (about 120°F) and sometimes on hot days it can go up to 65°C (about 150°F), forcing me to turn it off. Should I keep it under my desk (in the corner of the room) and try to move it out a bit more, or try and put it on my desk? It weighs a lot so I would need to get a stronger desk.

Hot air rises right so floor is typically better. i take the side of the case off too
Will I have to worry about dust or hair? My room gets pretty dusty and I have 2 cats, and they shed really long hair EVERYWHERE, especially on the floors.

oh really, thats weird. Are you using a laptop or a desktop?
Also try to clean your pc regulary, and see if theres alot of dust on the fans, you get a much more hotter cpu if you dont clean dust out of the cpu cooler well enough.

I am using a huge desktop that a lot of people call a "tower". I clean it often and it just went in to get a new GPU, RAM and fans, so everything is pretty clean inside.

I use two pieces of wood to give some extra space between the floor for a bit better air flow as placing it directly on the floor may be a issue for some cases with minimal pads on the bottom for your power supply air intake.

Even more so if it's on carpet as that can hurt it a lot.

Otherwise as long as it's not boxed in some kind of desk compartment and has room on the sides it should be fine in either the floor or desk.

I use two pieces of wood to make it higher too, and I have a hardwood floor

BIOS setting.
But before you change anything: which CPU?
Maximus 20 AGO 2016 a las 4:06 a. m.
Speccy says it's an "Intel Core i7 4930K @ 3.40GHz"

Put your BIOS setting to 80 then.
60s in temps is good for your CPU.

Power on your PC, press DEL, you're now in BIOS. Look for tab like "health status" - depends on BIOS manufacturer.

Set CPU temperature warning to 80°C.
