Thin ethernet cable that can go through a room and reach upstairs

Title. I've seen many super long ethernet cables, but they're all bulky and blue, which sticks out too much. Is there maybe a thin, preferrably black ethernet cable that won't stick out like an eyesore? I'd say above 20 feet. And could it also be cheap? Like under $20?

You can get virtually any color of cable in any length you just have to buy a box, some RJ45 plugs, and a crimper.

Get CAT 6 black ethernet cable or make your own. It will still be bulky, but at least not blue and extremely high performance over very long distances.

Cat6 cable is 100 meters (330 ft) when used for 10/100/1000BASE-T and 55 meters (180 ft) when used for 10GBASE-T. It's way more than enough.

Cat5E might be thinner, it's been awhile since i've had them side by side to compare.

You're not really going to get much smaller though since it's 4 twisted pairs (8 smaller copper wires) inside.

Cat5e cable is more than enough for average household. Don't imagine a lot of people plan to set up a data center in their house that needs 10Gb transmission bandwidth.

It's not exactly what I bought but yeh, Wally-World has some flat 50 footers in black. And I'm sure you'll never max out the bandwidth on what they have. I tucked mine into the carpet/trim around the room to my PC for the time being. I don't own this house so I'm not sinking money into it. Would love wall receptacles XD

Nice cheap and flat. using them myself to run from my living room router into my kitchen where I have my computer.

Comes in 10, 15, 20, 25, and 45 from what I've seen.

Oh, it's cat6 as someone already said. So I'm assuming the answer to my question is 'yes'. Last question: will my internet speed decrease because of the length of the cable and the distance the signal travels?

It's digital, it won't decrease magically, but if not shielded properly you may have connectivity problems.

Considering you probably just put that cable around in the house, and it's just a few meters, there's nothing to be worried about.

Nothing will interfere with the cable, so I doubt it'll be getting crushed by anything. Also I've heard the thing is really durable. I'm planning to put it along the sides of my wall. As long as I get faster internet than I do with wireless, I'm satisfied. Thanks.

you can get interference if its right next to 110/220vac wires in a wall, but more than 1-2 feet away will be fine even if its twisted pair unshielded

but flat cable will not be twisted pair, and more prone to pick up interference
short distance will be ok tho

Run it through the walls, then use a wall socket for cables.

Or use one of those power plug ethernet adapters. It won't be as fast, but it will be better than wireless.

Avoid Flat HDMI / Ethernet cables unless it really serves a purpose for your intended usage applications. As these will not bend/wrap very well like a rounded cable. But like any cable type, always avoid crimps, knots and sharp-bends.
