It looks pretty positive and been around 20 years, you would think they would be better.
We have Consumer Guarantees Act of 1993 in New Zealand, which would help protect us from faulty products or bad services. However, I don't know your laws there in the UK. There should be some kind of fairness for consumers however, read the ToS (Terms of Service).
One example:
I purchased a laptop which came with a defect on day 1.
They repaired it once, but the defect occured again.
They repaired it a second time.
The third time the same issue came up in the same year, they refused to repair it and said it was water damaged.
Do not risk it with these guys.I am not the only one with complaints.
They have a reputation management team that censors negative reviews.
They do not honour their warranty in my experience.
Never had an issue. Returned a HDD enclosure I purchased last year because I got <10 gbps when it was supposed to be USB 3.1 gen 2.
They said it was fine when they tested it be refunded anyway. Had a 43" Display early last year. It kept flickering, top right showed blurry text. Returned it for a refund as they didn't have any in stock to replace it with. Took me 3 months to find anywhere else in UK that got stock.
Got a NAS from. Had a couple of issues setting it up and they talked me through them without needing to return it.
I usually buy my computer products from them or Overclockers and never had a single issue from either of them.
Sure some have a bad experience but that should outweigh the good service.
but i do not get what you say quote " My brother bought himself a new pc from Scan a few months ago, while installing the components the socket for the CPU was damaged. So he sent it in for repair, a process which can potentially take up to 4 weeks.Unquote "
Why would your brother buy a new PC then start installing components ? was this a self build .or I missing some thing here.
Honestly, this seems like it was out of their hands, your 'brother' (why is it always family or friend?) buggered it up, so it had to be sent to Asus for a warranty claim.
They wouldn't if sent the cpu off to Asus with it so was likely a simple mistake.
You seem to be blaming scan for your mistake and Asus having a slow turn around mainly.
Then laptop guy damages their own laptop and wonders why it's not covered? There's plenty of evidence of water damage and again, it would of been sent off for a warranty claim not fixed in house 99% of the time.
Sucks you guys had bad experience, but, the vast majority don't, that abd the issues seem to be user error or slow warranty process overall.
someone bumped it, let it sink to the depths again
Christ I missed that lol
