"Perfectly fine" to "OMG! TURN IT OFF NOW!!!!!" depending on the brand and model. So maybe, if you share the brand and model with us, we can give a more precise answer.

Yeah fans are running, and the gpu is now in the question

R9 270x, newegg link above.

It aint too good, would be better to get it down to around 85C under load. It's small ITX card with only one fan so it will run hot, especially if case is small ITX too.
If you are overclocking it then set it back to default.
If you have some free case fan slots in your case than add some case fans.

Try increasing the fan speed if it's not already at 100%
I'm pretty sure at 100C it would melt if not for your PC automatically shutting down. 90C is pretty bad as well. It shouldn't be going over 85C

100c won't burn your components. Past titans have parts running over 100c just fine. It's not necessarily good though. Make sure your fans are running especially on the gpu. MSI 270x should only go up around 70c to begin with.

100c is too hot

on laptops they will throttle at that point
desktop may force windows to shut down or throttle depending no the gpu

clean ti and check case airflow

yeah thats way too hot for that card never seen a 270x reach that temp something is wrong either dried up thermal paste or fan is not working right

I think it's the dust then, I really don't clean it much and I have no idea how to clean it without damaging the parts.

Compressed air; blow the dust of the system, the GPU, heatsinks, power supply, fans, etc...

CPUs and GPUs reach temps around 80-90C without an high end fan while playing Hardwaresucking games and its normal but at 95-100C normal Hardware dies xD i cant imagine how you bring it that far

Ehh I've been using this GPU for like 2 years or something and I think it's always been around temperatures like this. I don't want to jynx it but I want to try to cool it down. My boy has been telling me how his fans don't even run because his GPU stays around 50C. But then again, he has water cooling so idk.

If you don't mind the noise keep the fans at 100% idk why people have problems with the sound and want it to be dead silent I prefer to know if my rig is running
remember to let the GPU to cool down for 30 minutes.
