Elevate the laptop and ensure the fan is in good working order.
Monitor the CPU & GPU temps and see how hot it gets.
The system will throttle at around 90*C anyways to prevent over-heating.
But something in the 70 - 85*C is normal when running games on laptops.
Laptops generally have very little cooling capability. So when you put them under stress, they heat up massively - easily hitting 75 degrees celcius at the CPU.
Or having it sit on a place that won't allow proper airflow; such as on your bed.
Install a good app that monitors things such as CPU & GPU temps and see how hot it gets.

If it starts to throttle to prevent an over-heat, trust me you'll know, cause the performance will tank quickly; such as the FPS in a Game.
They do that. It's why I recommend safety precautions when using them for gaming. Either put the laptop on a table or mealtray, or maybe buy a welding apron. Putting them on a hard surface will maximise what cooling they have - even if it's something portable like a mealtray.
in some review I read that during the test surface was heated to 47-50 degrees Celsius
