Considering buying the GTX 1060

Now that Nvidia's GTX 1060 is out, is it worth getting at this point or should I wait?

well here is most of them in stock i live in Slovakia, just ordered palit gtx 1060 some minutes ago, it will come in 2 days

It beats ALL Previous NVIDIAs and ALL Current AND Previous AMD GPUs, Especially 3rd party versions.

AMDs new GPUs dont even come close to 1080 performance.

I kinda doubt that considering you dont even have enough knowledge to properly fake the PC specs in your profile.
First there is no such CPU as i7-5960K, it's i7-5960X.
Also Asus Rampage V Extreme motherboard uses high Mhz DDR4 RAM not 1866 Mhz DDR3 Corsair Vengeance.

There is something wrong on your end as the 1070 beats the 980ti decently and the 1080 is a decent gap ahead of the 1070 so you need to figure out the issue here.

Yes probably low-res screen or bottlenecking CPU; so beefier GPUs are just not shining on whatever his specs really are; due to simply not being good enough to handle a beefier GPU

1070's the best value for money the 1060 is a mid ranged card competing with the AMD RX480 which compares very well to a 1060 with Vulkan and DX12, prices are dropping on Nvidia cards so perhaps wait another few weeks (that's what i'm doing)
