What's the difference between a "normal" motherboard and a "gaming" motherboard
For example

Normal Motherboard: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0165YUDTM/?tag=pcp0f-20
and
Gaming Motherboard: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01B4U47E4/?tag=pcp0f-20

What's the difference?

Usually it just means what features it has are geared towards. It usually means next to nothing, so focus on actual features.

Looks like the MSI Gaming board has more ports, USB 3.1, 7.1 native out the back, different LAN chipset.

"gaming" MB's are often better designed for good looking builds.
You cannot be sure but most "gaming" mainboards have better features like:
Better Soundchip
Better Lan Chip
Better CPU Voltage controls
More PCIe Slots for more room to expand the system (SLI/CrossFireX or maybe Sound/TV cards)
Better and more BIOS/UEFI Settings

I would not go after the "gaming" stuff. You should look after what I/O (Input/Output) you need. Maybe check that there are enough CPU Phases for its power stability. (Everything above 8 Phases is good)
the title

if they are the same chipset no difference in cpu or gaming performance

gaming may have better nic or sound card on it, but thats about it
but the standard nic is fine, and if you need a better sound card buy a pci-e x1 card

Yeah thats the best and shortest explanaition for PC Rookies.

Gaming Mainboards wont have any affect on your Gaming experience.

But otherwise, if your Mainboard is too cheap, it can cause issues. (yu dont say)
Aside from whats been mentioned

They may be better geared towards Overclocking and possibly cooling

Etc so on.
OK, I think I get it now, but I don't need USB3.0 because I'm using a mouse and keyboard that need USB2.0 only. Thanks peeps :)

any modern board has usb 3.0 ports, they are backward compatable with 2.0 and 1.1 devices

Really?
Yes, you can use USB 2.0 and 1.0 devices (if there are any 1.0 devices left) if you have the usb 3.0 drivers installed.
Ye, when I'm building a computer, do the parts come with a link on paper to download the drivers?

thats THE funniest thing ive ever read xDDDDD

Someone needs to post this on reddit pls :P

No, there will be a CD with all needed Drivers and also not needed Bloatware.
Just download all drivers from the Website, because the drivers on the CDs are mostly old.
What's so funny about that? Oo

If i where new to building computers, and would build a rig with no optical drive, i would be happy if the manual came with a written adress of the manufacturers website. Otherwise i might end up downloading some crappy ad-infested stuff from softtonic or whatnot..

Also im pretty sure somewhere in the Manual you can find the internet adress from the manufacturer.
Gaming is only a marketing term. When comparing identical chipsets (in this case h110), just look for the features/looks that are relevant to you.

They only start becoming different if it was h110 vs h170.

A lot of "gaming" mobo are just normal mobo + red and black paint.
As others say, such fancy buzzwords usually just indicate you pay up extra money. Ignore that and look at the actual features. All decent mobo manufacturers have good website with compare function, easy to look up the differences. Between brands it is more tricky, if you have trouble to evaluate some feature ask here about that.
Yea, I know my way round the parts, just wondered if they were actually engineered to take more info from the GPU or something like that
