New PC Build
I have put together a list of components for a PC build that I will be using for gaming, recording and editing. I have pushed my budget further than I was planning so there are no room for any improvements that include more money. If you could check the list of components and let me know what you think of it, I would be grateful as I'm probably going to order it sometime later today!

get a better ssd
intel, samsung, crucial or mushkin
and 2tb hdd

gtx 1060 will be clsoe to 980ti performance
or 1070 wont cost too much more
but those are wasted on a single 1080p 60hz monitor
go for 1080p 144hz gsync or 1440p 60hz or 3x 1080p 60hz gsync for nv surround

odd (cd/dvd drive) isnt needed anymore

for the price of a good wifi nic, you can run a cable

You can get GTX 1070 for £10 more then GTX 980 Ti, newer generation card is always better when thinking about future.

Are you going to Overclock your system?

i5k beats i7 non k for gaming

over 16g of ram requries win7 pro or better
rx 480 is weaker than gtx 1060

1) No. Stock clock is i7 better than i5.
2) No. You dont need Pro for over 16GB. Where did you hear that?
3) No, not in plain computing power. Nvidia Cards are optimized for Gaming, but AMD Drivers are more allrounder for Programs too.

Depends on which version of Windows OP plans on using.

If running Windows 7 you do need Pro for over 16GB. Home only supports up to 16GB.

On Windows 10 the ram limitation for Home is 128GB and for Pro its 512GB.

1. being able to overclock will be better than ht, esp in games
2. win 7 home has a 16g limit, 8 or newer has 128g

1070 is 7+gflop, rx480 = <6gflop
1060 isnt on the list yet, but its is about 10% weaker than 1070, 6.3 is still greater than <6
