Logitech G430 Mic Fix
Okay, so I just got this headset in the mail, and I have a history of having an extremely rough time configuring logitech headsets, I've been working on this for the past 2 hours.

At first, I plugged in the 2 seperate cables into the audio jacks on the back of my computer. The mic AND sound worked fine. Then I decided to use the USB adapter to use the logitech software. I had sound, but then the mic stopped working. After a few times switching to and from the usb adapter, I lost both sound AND mic. Then sound eventually came back but still no mic. I've tried just about everything in the control panel for my devices and audio playback, recording and what not, and I don't know what to do, but I'm really stressed out.

If someone could provide a fix, that'd be great.

i've confirmed that when I plug the cables into the adapter and the firmware installs itself that that ruins it. The sound works but the mic just stops working entirely.

How do i fix this???

Talk with Logitech Support.

I fixed it. I guess this goes out to anyone who has the same problem;
When you use the USB adapter it automatically installs the firmware, which makes either your sound or mic stop working. Completely uninstall, then reinstall the drivers and you're good to go.

G430 had firmware problems with mic.
If you get this problem in the future you can update the firmware from the logitech software (make sure to download the latest version from their website).

I just thought I would add to this. I found that the USB connector does not work when place into a USB 3.0 port or the port on the Logitech keyboard. I fixed it by plugging into a USB 2.0 port

Mine works in a 3.0 port and not a 2.0.

First thing you should do is install the software and then update the firmware. Then you have to remove everything (driver in device manager and software, then reinstall again). Then occasionally it becomes undetected (usually after windows updates) so you have to remove everything and reinstall again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Getting tired of it and thinking of just getting the Sound Blaster Play!3 just to avoid the logitech driver and software headaches, small price to pay for peace of mind.
