It's cheap 760 chipset motherboard, to properly run 125W FX-8350 you need 970 or 990 chipset motherboard.

Return mobo, because it doesnt support CPU, and return CPU because it's a terrible choice for a gaming PC. Buy an i5 CPU, they can beat FX even without any OCing, though I would still suggest an unlocked i5 and Z170.

Even on a 990fx motherboard, Windows will still show the CPU having only four cores. It's because the cores are paired up into modules, which are pools that distribute the cache to two cores. In other words, this is like a reverse hyperthreading effect. Windows will show this as four cores and eight threads as with i7 CPUs. The FX 8000-series CPUs are eight-core CPUs running as if they are hyperthreaded quad cores.

Well either way the OP needs the correct mobo, like said above 970 and up is needed unless he likes his CPU running below its potential..

That board has a misleading name scheme. 980 isn't even a chipset, so I have no clue why they called it that to begin with.

It really only has a 760g chipset, which isn't ideal for an FX.

nothing wrong with the cpu but the motherboard isnt great options are 1. return motherboard saying it wont support 8320e at full speeds if you can
2.add heatsinks to the vrm's on the mobo as it is 4+1 vrm 140wtdp support but needs heatsinks
if your stuck with it id do that

also task manager etc. in windows reports as 4 cores 8 logical processors so dont worry bout that

Not from what I've seen in PCs on display at stores.
