we can get into an arguement but FX8xxx have 8 TRUE cores , do some research.
my 8320 used to show 8 cores...i can't remember anymore but i think i started with a 760 chipset and had to jump thru some hoops to get the 8 cores showing, and even then it didn't run very well on that MB
Maybe a Win10 thing?
Or a crap motherboard in those prebuilts that doesn't fully utilize FX8.
Win7 has always showed me all 8 cores with 990FX.
In Task Manager, System Info, Dxdiag, etc...
This is what Win 10 shows me on a 970 mobo http://i.imgur.com/Ib332Ig.png
This is one of the best explanations I've found if the topic comes up again (which it will; let's face it, these are the Steam forums, few people search to see if their question has been answered already).
You need a 9-series (970 or 990FX) board to fully utilize any FX CPUs & XMP 1866 RAM; which for any FX CPU, you should be using 1866 RAM since it can natively use that.
Ah, that makes sense. Guess it probably is a Win10 thing. Win7 makes no distinction between logical/physical processors/cores.
Now that you put in a new cpu the BIOS would revert to factory settings and show all cores.
If you put the 8350 back in you would see all cores.
