GPU output port priorities
Have been experimenting a bit, during POST the DVI port is always used as default to display the info. However once the OS is booted and running properly, HDMI and DP ports have much faster response time, most notably when switching in and out of fullscreen applications.

I wonder if the graphics card BIOS is hardcoded to take priorities, even though these ports aren't required to go through digital to analog signal transform.

Well for bootup, it has to prioritize it to an extent; it's not going to display the BIOS or OS screens prior to OS login/desktop on anything more than a single screen, to which depends what all you have hooked up.
The main reason I'm doing this I plan to migrate all connections to DP only later, but I haven't figured out a way to assign the pre-OS display to a specific monitor, other than have it connect through DVI obviously.
When u reach that point, plug in 3x DP Monitors and see which DP is the default on your GPU. It can vary from GPU to GPU depending on how they are mapped out on the Card I suspect.
Good point.

I've figured it out. With the heatsink side facing upward, it's the DP on the right.
most can be sorted in the gpu control panel

changing res has more to do with the monitor brand/model than the port used

That is all good and well, once u enter an OS; but he wanted to have a certain one of them be I guess in the middle of the three; that would be the one displaying the BIOS/POST and all that; as you can't really change how that gets displayed.
