144hz monitor stuck at 60hz

My 1050 TI using VGA gave me the option to use 144hz on my monitor in both the display settings and nvidea control panel. My 2080 TI which i installed yesterday with a 144hz hdmi cable is only allowing me to choose 60hz in both the display settings and nvidea control panel. The graphics card, hdmi cable and my monitors hdmi port allow for 144hz so whats the problem????

Are you sure your HDMI cable is actually 144 Hz capable?
If your monitor has DP (DisplayPort) socket then better to just get a DP cable.

You must use DisplayPort or DVI-D
HDMI is not going to do it.
This is not always a cable limitation, but how the Monitor was designed.
Most Displays designed with an HDMI 2.0 port on them are not made to do above 60-75Hz over that HDMI port. And require either DVI-D or DP to do the 120+ Hz.

Fairly certain that's a digital-only card, so even if you were using a converter I doubt it'd push 144Hz to VGA.

Anyway, best to use DisplayPort or DVI-D if you want higher Hz rates. Monitor & GPU (also GPUs video port you want to use) all must be compatible with the Resolution & Hz rate you desire to get it easily.

Always check the manufacturers information before purchasing or attempting specific things.

I was looking at getting some adaptors but i can't find any which are 144hz. Should i get a cable which is both hdmi and VGA/ DVI? or should i get an adaptor which slots into hdmi with a VGA/DVI connector on the otherside?

No. Most Monitors never support it like that. Look at the specs page for your exact monitor. It most likely states that use of DP is required for 144hz

Have u update newest driver and geforce exp? Turn off v-sync / used displayport/ hdmi , yeah try with 1980x1080/1024 , for maby 120 hz , download monitor drivers , dont use windows ♥♥♥♥ drivers , learn , google is free. If it dont work u have wrong nvidia drivers.
