I seriously don't understand why they'd be missing from your All Apps in StartMenu unless they were manually deleted from there. And you should be able to search your PC via the Cortana Search bar as well.

I think I'm doing the search properly; it's the little magnifying glass, right? I just keep getting that edgescape thing.

Launch Explorer w/ Winkey+E, then go to "This PC" and then click C Drive. Then do your search
Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but the Store program hasn't worked for a long time either, but I don't use it, so I don't really care.
