Palitt GTX 1060 problem
********Helpp??*********

I5 4690k
Corsair Cx600m
16gb ddr3 2133mhz
Gigabyte z97mx gaming 5

Dell u2414h 1080p monitor display port connection(tried hdmi)

Just put a gtx 1060 into this build and it the pc is running very sluggishly, clicking start or opening any applications and there is a noticable delay and cpu spikes to about 60%

Restart the pc and it takes ages to restart sometimes not at all and it doesnt even post.

Restarting 5 or 6 times It will run smoothly but then another restart and its sluggish etc again.

can anyone help?

Put in old gpu 6950 and hd 5750 and it's smooth as butter, no problems at all and posts first time and boots really quick.

I've reinstalled Windows 10, updated drivers, and downloaded from Palit, nvidia and through windows. Still the same problem.

You need to DDU the old driver boot into safe mode remove driver shutdown PC and download the latest driver from Nvidia.

I've tried reinstalling etc, it's still the same. This is my second replacement for this card. Now I'm wondering if it's either my motherboard or PSU.

Did you DDU your old driver?

I wonder what that has to do with his system being unable to reliably POST where data from the harddrives is not even read.

My guess would be the PSU. Dell loves to cut corners by putting weak PSUs into the case that are barely enough to power the system.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Windows 10 fresh from Iso, it's not a driver problem. I've come to the conclusion that the Palit branded GTX 1060 is faulty. I will get a refund and I don't advise anyone to buy a Palit GPU.

Bit of an update, it wasn't the card after all. It was something to do with the PCI-E Gen 1, 2 and 3. Gen 3 would be sluggish and sometimes wouldn't post or would hang. I then did some poking around and found out that my ram was bottlenecking my PCI-E Gen 3 configuration. I set the speed to 2133mhz on my ram and everything is back to normal!
