Issues using 3.5mm audio on Win 10
Ok so im fairly new to PC use in general and ive been using my plantronic RIG headset for gaming but i wanted to use my Bose QC25 for the better quality and noise cancelling with movies and music. My plantronics works fine as a mic and headset through my rear USB port but the QC25 (3.5mm) refuses to work or even register as an audio device in my device manager. I also tested a heap of cheap 3.5mm headphones and nothing seems to work in either input or output. Ive updated my sound card and even my built in speakers to cover all bases. Am i missing anything super obvious?

Intel Core i7 6700HQ @ 2.60ghz

There is no device, analog = plug it in and use it, jees...

Playback / Recording; set the Realtek Analog Speakers and Mic as the Defaults, done.

It's literally called "playback devices". Analog output is still done by a device, it's not fairy dust making noises :P

And that's exactly what i was hinting for.

Analog u plug it and ensure it's un-mute and voila.... that is really all there is to it.

Just unplug your USB headset and the Analog one should go back to being default again.

Pretty much what ive been thinking. it should just straight up work so ive been plugging my phone/USB drives into the USB ports on the side of my 3.5mm and comparing against the ones on the rear and right. the 3.5mm side USB ports are 100% faulty so im guessing that theyre wired into the machine as a single unit one side at a time, so looks like it warranty time :(

Why do you keep saying 3.5mm and USB as if they have anything to do with one-another?

Your device u wish to use, requires one of those connections, not both.
because both those ports sit on the same side of the device and both dont work leading me to believe that there is a fault
