Problems Downloading Windows 10 64-bit
I have an x64 based processor and i still cannot download windos 10 64 bit, i have a liscense for both 64 and 32 yet i can only run 32, im not sure why because my processor is pretty new, and its an AMD A6 5400K APU with Radeon HD Graphics (3.6Ghz). Ive looked online and so far i havent found any help with this subject, i thought maybe i need a new processor but I just bought mine less than 6 months ago and it shows up as a supported processor on the windows 10 help page. Anyone who can help it would be very appreciated considering I own several games I cannot play because I run on 32-bit

USB 3.0 is just for transfer speed; that really doesn't matter for just file backups.
It's not like you would use an external to house actively installed Apps/Games.
But in terms of backup; being able to move files around, if needed it comes in handy for if you needed to wipe your whole C Drive and needed a temp place to move some files; even your games if you wanted to and had space to do so. Sure the transfer time might be longer cause of using USB 2.0; but in the end, so what.

And you can always add USB 3.0 via cheap PCIE card if you had to, or wanted to.
Same goes for if you needed more SATA Ports.

my ISP prolly would cut the internet if i would try to download more then 1Tb a month...they send me a letter at 250 gigs , and warn me if i go over 250 gigs in 3 consecutive months they may cut the line....

Wow I couldn't deal with that, sometimes I've downloaded 250GB+ in a day. They have sent me letters saying. "C'mon fella, chillout", but they never cap my speeed :tgrin:
ISP can't enforce a traffic limit on the customer if the company hasn't stated there would be one at the time he/she is signing the contract. Although it isn't unheard of that some 'super heavy' users have had their terms changed for them by the ISP when they refresh the contracts.

there's usually a "amount" provision in the small letters , under the fair usage policy....thats how they get you..

In that case then it is stated. Naturally that's what small print is all about.

Well actually, I use my 1TB EXTERNAL WD Drive to host games and applications :D External is really good imho. You can move with your games from place to place without having to re-install them. Same goes for apps. For eg, I might go on long trips upto 12 hours on plane, so I just use my external HDD where all my games and movies are stored and those 12 hours pass by within a second for me and the person sitting next to me.
Actively installed apps/games run poorly from a USB 2.0 drive; that's why.

idk, It runs fine for me, though mine is usb 3.0
USB 3.0 would be fine for that; but yea the OP said it didn't have that; so that's why I was suggesting not to install apps to a 2.0 drive.
usb 3.0 speeds are 10x faster then 2.0 too though

When I bought my computer I had 32-bit Windows 7 I later upgraded to windows 10 32-bit, and I just upgraded again to windows 10 64-bit but if you meant something else then I think I had Windows 10 home before I downloaded Pro but maybe thats why
You need to use the Key that came with your Win7
Keys do not differ between the same OS because of being 32bit vs 64bit.
But if your Win7 was Home Premium, then you are limited to using Win10 Home, for your free version/upgrade.

Upon Win10 installation, when first asked for Product Key > click DO NOT HAVE ONE.
When the OS has finished installing, go to either of these:

StartMenu > Settings > Updates & Security
-or-
Control Panel > System

And in either of those places, is a Product Key Activation area.
Have the system connected online, then in the activation, enter your Win7 key.

32 bit windows can only upgrade to 32 bit windows and 64bit windows can only upgrade to 64bit windows. So you either have to download and install windows 10 32bit and use your previous license or buy 64 bit windows!

We've been over this...
We had him download Win10 64bit and do a fresh install.
He is free to still re-use his Win7 32bit Key with that OS.
