Problems Downloading Windows 10 64-bit
I have an x64 based processor and i still cannot download windos 10 64 bit, i have a liscense for both 64 and 32 yet i can only run 32, im not sure why because my processor is pretty new, and its an AMD A6 5400K APU with Radeon HD Graphics (3.6Ghz). Ive looked online and so far i havent found any help with this subject, i thought maybe i need a new processor but I just bought mine less than 6 months ago and it shows up as a supported processor on the windows 10 help page. Anyone who can help it would be very appreciated considering I own several games I cannot play because I run on 32-bit

windows 64bit OS can run both 32bit and 64bit games, 32bit and 64bit programs.

windows 32bit OS can only run 32bit games and 32bit programs but never 64bit games/programs

you have the option of downloading an ISO for dvd burning or creating a usb installer.
download your windows 10 from ms directly, english-US language:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/
that doesn't really help because i already have windows 10 32 bit running on my computer, i need to upgrade to 64 but i am unable for whatever reason
the link helps.
since you are a noob, you download the 64bit installer and do clean installation of windows 10 64bit on a new drive (or wipe all data from your old drive)

there is no direct 'upgrade' from windows 32bit to 64bit as they are different.
you need a new installation.
Are you trying to do it through Windows Updates?
If so, download and run the tool from Microsoft instead.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
^ Scroll down to "Download Tool Now"
Have a 4GB minimum usb flash drive ready and connected.
I have done all of this, NOT THE PROBLEM, i specifically said it will not run windows 10 64 bit, Ive used the creation tool and i put it on a usb and i still cannot, that is my problem, not that i dont know how to install windows 10 because I do
What does "it will not run windows 10 64 bit" mean? It won't install properly/installation fails? It hangs on Windows startup? No OS found? Crash?
Meaning when I start the upgrade i get a message saying the app to continue the installation isnt compatable with my PC and to contact the software publisher

no ACTUALLY you said you CANNOT download it , after that you said you CANNOT upgrade it for whatever reason......but thats beside the point.

you can only go to a 64 bit install from a CLEAN drive with NOTHING on it...period....

are you BOOTING from the USB ?.

cause if your trying to run it from the app then yes it won't cause its a 64bit app , and your trying to run it from a 32bit OS

Download meaning Run, and knowing not being able to install it means I can't run it, not that I don't know how, quit being a smartass it doesn't help and yes I did all of this on a clean install, scrutinzing what I said is pointless because you're giving me the same information everyone else has, my point is = WINDOWS WILL NOT FINISH DOWNLOADING= CANNOT RUN SETUP.EXE that is the problem, not that I don't know how, my problem is my hardware isn't compatable for reasons I do not know, but what I do know is that my processor is x64 based, that is the dilema here, not my ability to download the software itself because im well aware what process I have to go through my problem is my hardware, something I cannot fix.
no actually , your the one started being the smartass , downloading doesn't mean run...downloading is that ...downloading.

and since your still "cryptic" about what you have tried and are trying to do i doubt anyone here can help you.

WINDOWS WILL NOT FINISH DOWNLOADING= CANNOT RUN SETUP.EXE

makes NO SENSE....

however . let me ask you this then...did you make that bootable usb thumbdrive on a USB 3.0 port or a USB 2.0 port ? ( it shouldn't matter , but i have seen instances where a 3.0 port will screw it up)

are you booting from the USB with the win10 image on it ?

can you even make the USB drive ?

What better way can I explain? Literally running does not work, so my download CAN'T finish, I don't understand why you don't get that, even so that shouldn't effect why you can't idk suggest a solution instead of trying to find errors in what I said, you clearly aren't helping at all and honestly I don't care, if you would rather be here to suggest I don't know what im talking about because you can't understand what I said thats your problem, because its simple- setup.exe is the program needed to finish the installation of the OS and setup.exe will NOT run because my computer is said to be uncompatable, but that isn't true, now if you can't figure out what that means then I guess you're just wasting my time here, because the problem is in the setup.exe, other than that everything else has worked fine, the clean install worked, but it cannot finish because setup.exe isn't compatable, which again is a lie because my processor says otherwise.
I used the 2.0 and yes I picked the right drive, I only have one
i can't give you a solution because i can't figure out WHERE in the process you are.

but ill give you something to try.

i have had problems with the creation tool before , so i only use the creation tool to create an ISO file somewhere on my drive , then i use RUFUS to make a bootable FAT32 USB thumbdrive with the ISO i downloaded thru the creation tool.

i then use it to boot the PC and install the OS....

I could try that, but as of where i am, I have started booting the new OS and when I pick windows 10 pro, it tells me to remove my usb then restart my computer and allow it to log on to my current windows then go to the flash drive and start the application setup.exe to continue installation, but as i said setup.exe isn't compatable which i can't figure out. Where can I find RUFUS?
It's because your current version of Windows might be 32 bit! Go to control panel, system and security and then system. Over there, you will see which system type you have!
