My GTX 1080 FE is not performing anywhere close to most benchmarks found online, I can't seem to figure what the issue is
My Setup in Full is
GTX 1080 FE
Intel Core i5-4670K
8x2 Kingston DDR3 1600 RAM
MOTHERBOARD: Intel DB85FL
Corsair rm850x

I haven't overclocked or anything
Latest Nvidia Drivers Installed

For 3D Mark Firestrike my score is 13800
The norm though for this setup is supposed to be anywhere from 16,000 to 18,000

In games like the Division as well I'm getting at least 8 to 10 fps lower than what most benchmarks are getting

In games like the witcher 3 at 2560x1440p my temps get to 82 C as well

I've been trying to figure out the issue but cant find it.

Most people prob run this with overclocked CPU, you have pretty cheap motherboard not suited for overclocking, would need Z97 motherboard and decent enough cooler to overclock your CPU.
GTX 1080 can hit damn close to 100% CPU use in Witcher 3 even with i5-6600K.
82 C is nothing really dangerous or odd with reference model.
This could easily count for missing 10 fps.

3DMark allows you to compare against other verified benchmarks. Since i5 4670 is a rather common CPU you should be able to see how others are doing pretty easily.
Thanks for your quick reply Rumpelcrutchskin

I've never really overclocked my cpu or gpu before, I'm not too well versed in the overclocking department. I only got this motherboard because I never had the intention of overclocking my processor or GPU. On Futuremark comparisons I looked at people with the exact same setup as mine, and they were getting scores in 16,000, most had not overclocked the CPU or GPU and were still in a desirable range.

What would you recommend I should do, upgrade my cpu? Is there any other explanation for the lower framerate and firestrike score if people at same setups are having more frames and scores at the same frequencies on their GPU and CPU setup?
Which GPU driver are you using?
368.39
Yeah you should prob look for scores of people with i5-4670 like Cursed said, this would be same performance as non-overclocked i5-4670K.
just checked with a 4670

this guys score is 14,366

heres his setup

hmm based on most others I've seen its odd that my memory bus clock is only at 1251 Mhz, isnt it supposed to be at 5006 Mhz?
What is an Intel Corporation DB85FL?
Thermal throttling hits at 80C with GPU Boost 3.0.

That's the likely explanation.

Do a custom fan profile, make it aggressive.

What is an Intel Corporation DB85FL?
Intel's own brand of B85 motherboard, sorta like a reference model. Normally you don't get these for your custom PC builts becuz Intel partners like Asus, Gigabyte, MSI produce their own MB variants with the respective Intel chipsets featuring their own proprietary gizmos on the side.
