15A psu on a 10A cable. Smart?
So apparently staples doesn't carry any 240V, 15A cables and I don't have the original psu cable. The cable I have instead is a 125V 10A cable and I don't know if it's smart to use it. The website for the psu, a rosewill rbr-1000m, says that it can use 120-240V and 15A.

So my question for you, if I only play, lets say Shogun 2, would my psu not die or something? Or will that 5A difference completely ♥♥♥♥ me? I don't know

The Ampere value states what the cable can actually handle. The wires in a 15A cable will be
thicker. Check if your power cord gets warm. If it does replace it with a higher rated one.

Yeah I know what amp I need and all but the cable is 10 amp and I need 15. Idk if this will ♥♥♥♥ my psu is all I'm asking

watts = voltage x amps
at 240v the 10a cable will be fine
i highly doubt the build is over 2kw

if its 110v, 10a is still over 1kw

The power cord limits the power draw of the PSU. So if your PSU would in fact draw 1000 Watts
from the wall this could be problematic as the cable would get warm. 10A cable has a higher
resistance than 15A rated one. But I doubt that you use your PSU at 100% and even if you did
the PSU would shut down as all quality PSU have an overheating protection.

Alright cool thanks. I don't feel like I'm going to take out my computer anymore. I'll try it out. Yeah I have a 1000W psu but I only really need 500W, ikr complete overkill. But whatever my dad flipped his ♥♥♥♥ when his cheapo 600W exploded so *shrug* I have a lot of head room.

Thanks guys.
