No need to spend lots of money on a gaming mouse, they are just a gimmick. An ordanary mouse is just as good or even sometimes better the gaming ones.

I would visit a brick and mortar shop that lets you try mice out to get a idea of the ones you prefer the feel for as this is one area they can shine.

"Gaming mice" is not a gimmick. That is pure false info, you get these things called Japanese Omron switches (that last 1000's of clicks), Avago sensors etc etc.. pretty much every internal mice part ordinary mice does not have.

The only time an ordinary mouse might outperform a gaming mouse is when the ordinary is an MS optical or something, while the gaming is a cheap laser mouse. Other than that, you want a real mouse if you want the sensor to pick up on your movements all properly.

Ditch those MS mice, they're, although acceptable, ancient tech. I use and suggest the SteelSeries Rival. It's like the biggest palm grip mouse with the Avago 3988 sensor IIRC, the best one available. Do keep in mind that the rubber on its sides get worn off with time though.
