What is the normal temp for Nvidia geforce 840m?
I play heavy games like Overwatch and fallout 4 and sometimes my celcius rises to 85c, ive been thinking about buying a laptop cooling pad but i need to know if i actually need it first.

Even if you do get a cooling pad, the laptop will still thermal throttle.

When new, maybe 70-85c..after 1 or more years it can go up to 100 and throttle (causes massive frame drops every few seconds) if you don't clean the inside fan and side vents. I recommend getting a cooling pad, the external fans actually don't help, the main profit of cooling pad is that the hot air can go out of the laptop, which is really helpful.

You see yourself you're in the range..72c is a good temp, but it doesn't mean everyone will have the same temp, it depends on the laptop model, ambient temp and how much you push the gpu..

My laptop has 2 pipes on my gpu and one one the cpu.
Which means that my cpu gets to high temps (90 C) and my gpu goes lets say max 65-68 C (gt840m).

I overclocked it (+130 gpu and +195 memory) and its max 75 but usually 72 to 73 when I play games. I think the temps aren't that high while playing so I will leave it overclocked.
