You connect by:
> Both Link and Gaming PC on same network.
> Both logged into the same Steam Account.
Login to the games account on your main gaming PC you will stream from (the gaming PC will have to run the games)
Then ensure Steam Client is up to date/working.
Power on Steam Link and login to this same account the gaming pc is logged into, while both on same local network.
Now on Steam Link; there won't be a Play option; instead a Stream option.
You can also do this with 2-PCs (In-HomeStreaming) the 2nd PC you log into; will have both a Install/Play option as well as a Stream option.
Each device is supposed to have it's own IP# Address.
For example:
Modem/Router (aka Gateway)
192.168.0.1 < Network Home Base
192.168.0.2 < Network Printer
192.168.0.3 < Gaming PC
192.168.0.4 < Steam Link
etc... all these devices are on the same network, so technically, they can all talk to each other.
For all the home network IP's login to the Modem or Router to see all that.
Your PCs, network devices such as Printer, Phone, Tablet, Xbox/PS, Steam Link; they will show up as an IP# all their own.
you need to allow the steam link access on the pc
steam -> settings -> in home streaming tab
