How To Upgrade From 4GB Kingston 800MHz RAM?
I've got a Windows 10 desktop with an extra RAM slot not being used. At the moment I've only got 4GB RAM which means no upcoming games and no DOOM ;( However I'm useless with upgrading and etc. and I heard getting the exact same RAM as before is probably the best idea. Except my Kingston 4GB RAM is only 800MHz, while I see others that are like double that. I don't know what any of that means, but common sense tells me the higher the number the better. Since I don't know my exact model, I'm hoping one of you can help me. Here's what CPU-Z tells me that looks important to me at least:

Slot 1: DDR3
Module Size: 4096 Megabytes
Max Bandwidth: PC3-12800 (800 MHz)
Manufacturer: Kingston
Part Number: 99U5584-010.A00LF
Serial Number: 741E668E

I'm only looking to get up to 8GB RAM, and I hear two 4GB RAM's are better than one 8GB RAM so that's convenient. I'm also looknig to buy from this site (PLE Computers) as that's the only main computer shop near me: https://www.ple.com.au/Search.aspx?SearchString=4gb%20ram

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

if it uses ddr2, you need a better pc to play the new doom

Minimum:

* OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
* Processor: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better

2nd gen i5 uses ddr3 along with fx

post a cpuz validation link
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here

You have 1600 Mhz DDR3 RAM, 1600 Mhz RAM bandwith is shown as 800 Mhz in CPU-Z and BIOS.
Better to get new 2x4 Gb kit to make sure it's compatible:

ok posting it as 800 was a common ddr2 freq
lowest ddr3 is 1333 (666mhz)

you have a 1600 cl11 dimm
to compare kits/dimms
speed / cl = value (higher = better)
1333 / 9 = 148
1600 / 11 = 145
1600 / 9 = 177
the differneces in gaming are minor

buy a single 1600+ cl11- 1.5v- dimm to go with it

or a 1600 cl9 kit to replace it

DOOM and other AAA games on a GTX 750 Ti is just going to be horrible.

And how u have a Win10 system; yet 4GB RAM? Like who did that with the RAM; a cheap POS Dell or HP from years ago came with 8GB RAM; now they come with 16GB RAM.

Ditch the 4GB; get 2x8GB
