Power supply for gtx 1080 sli
Hi all.I hope im in the right section for talking about it :) i have actually 970 sli gtx evga custom edition with ax760 corsairs power supply and cpu 4,0 ghz, 3 ssd + varius fans on the case. But i have fear not is enough for sli gtx 1080 founder edition or a custom one(but i hear the custom one have 60 watt more each... is true?Of course maybe is more fast che custom one) and i wanna buy evga or zotac brand because i think is better specially the evga(zotac is cheaper). With the power supply i can afford the ax860 corsair(not only for the money but because is maximum i can afford for elettricity in the house or blackout everytime i turn on other thingy :D ) but is enough?Because not found so much about it.Plus i have problem to search with this computer on the browser a the moment or click some links. In any cases my question is: the ax760 or ax860 corsairs power supply is enough? And worth the buy the gtx 1080 custom edition or is enough the 1080 founder edition?Because worth the comsuption, if is true, for the custom edition versus the founder editions?Thx for the responses and for the read. And sorry for my not perfect english :)

A quality 650-750 watts would be plenty for 2x GTX 1080
The FE / Reference models use upwards of 180-200 watts TDP
So even with 2x that use upwards of 250-watts each; yes those PSU are more than enough.
According to NVIDIA each 1080 will draw roughly 180W, excluding any manual overclocking action. So with 2 of these you will need at least 360W of supply set aside for the GPU exclusively. The rest depends on what you have in your PC.
Ty for the info so much :) and about if worth the custom version versus the founder edition?Worth the extra comsuption?Because if i can save in elettricity is good thingy :)

Yes i sayd i have 3 ssd + 5 extra fan and cpu 4,0 ghz.Maybe is better to buyng ax860?Not is a problem for me.

Edit: Yes is 180 watt the founder edition but the custom one have double 8 pin(the founder one only) i think need more power supply i see in certain sites.Or i wrong something?

Can't really speculate upon the 3rd party models until those actually come out and we see in-depth reviews on them; power draws, etc. And that would be on a per-model basis as well.

Fans and Drive don't really amount to much power anyways; so unless you have some sort of extreme setup with high powered fans and tons of them, I don't really see the need to include them into the factoring of whether a PSU would be enough for not.

Overall, those Corsair AX series PSUs would be more then enough for 2-way NVIDIA/AMD multi-GPUs, Drives, tons of Fans, etc.

Thx again.I think take a founders one maybe because cost less. For now i not overclocking because i think the custom is for overclockers.I have only fear about the temperature for the gpu because i see on youtube one guy says reach high temperature but not know if is normal in this gpu.But only on founders model.
The 3rd party / aftermarket cooled ones would cost less. But they are not generally in-stock just yet.

For example: NVIDIA GTX 1080 FE is around $699 USD
EVGA GTX 1080 SC or FTW would be cheaper than that, once released.
Oh need only wait you thinking for the less price?Because in my favorite shop, but is only for my state, not is arrived the evga for now but, tipically, the evga cost more but not is this the problem. The comsuption is the problem for now.Not only the power supply :) if the founders have less watt comsuption i take it.For example in italy, im italian, have more taxes versus other country for this cost so much more the things. In any cases ty for the info :) if you have more thingy to says im here... except if im afk.

Yes the higher-priced Founders Editions are first... the others will come a bit later.
We should start seeing the cheaper but better after-market cooled GTX 1080 pretty soon.

Such as:

I have found two custom version with one 8 pin.Is the msi aero, but is similar to reference founders edition, and gigabyte g1 gaming.I think take the last one ;) finally a good version with decent price(is around on founders edition price). With that version im sure is enough the power supply.Thx at all :)

Corsair uses rebranded Seasonic PSUs for some of their lines. So they are exactly the same, for those models.
most corsair tx 750w are seasonic
all xfx are seasonic
a few others are also
