Any HDTV/Monitor and higeher end GPU; always use Digital Connection. Retire VGA from your life and never use that.
There is no visual difference between VGA and other connections; anyone who says otherwise is full of themself.
Not fussed about 4k yet and I've heard the difference from 120 to 144 is hard to pick for a lot of people.
I've read this guide for setting the screen up and it recomends 120hz
https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/2zr8he/how_to_take_your_benq_z_series_monitor_to/
As for the VGA, I know it can do 1080p 60hz but it's still analogue.
The monitor I currently have is the worst I've ever seen, utter garbage asus VS228
Huh? ASUS VS228 has VGA, DVI, HDMI
So like WTF...
But ASUS not bad; but generally speaking; everything below 24-inch are crap.
Always try using DVI or DisplayPort for PC; it has a secure connection.
If you read the guide I posted, the guy explains why he sets the BenQ screen up for 120hz
VGA is fine for a secondary/accessory display.
