Can you play smooth 30 fps (like console) on PC?
Well, some games aren´t optimized at all or maybe the graphics card is starting to get old. Sometimes looks like a good idea to cap fps to 30 in order to play like console. However, whenever i cap it to 30 fps, it feels very bad, not like 30 fps on console, even on the same monitor.

So, is there any way to cap PC games at 30 and feel it smooth? I tried adaptative vsync, rivatuner (fps cap, scanline sync x/2, etc), nvidia profile inspector, nvidia control panel and nothing.

Nope. I use slow motion to define reasons why RTS 30 FPS looks smooth in correct way. Even if you drag a map; however, if you drag a map too fast then you will notice a flicker.

Please Google motion define and it will tell you what it mean.
You are literally talking about low motion or limited motion, not slow motion.

They are two different things.

And you've still yet to define this supposed "flicker".

Just stop.

Diablo 2 never looked smooth.
It still does tho, as long as your refresh rate is multiple of 25.

You're telling me to google, and don't know what visual tearing is and calling it flickering. Riiiiiight... Way to show others how little you know.

Bravo...

And what RTS runs at 30 FPS? lol

Low motion and show motion are the same. I'm not stopping for you, I only do what mod told me to do.

Real-time strategy.

No, it really doesn't. 25fps hard locked animation cycles are not smooth and never have been.

You do not know the difference if you think that's the case.

Real-time strategy.

Red Alert 3, for example. But while it's totally playable, it is kinda uncomfortable. 60 FPS would be way better there.

Which is why the best part of red alert 3 was the intro.

Locking APM heavy games like RTS to 30fps feels absolutely gross and always has.

I still play Diablo II, and I'm absolutely sure animations look smooth. It's not about the amount of frames, but about the specific frames they've chosen as key frames. 25 FPS is absolutely enough to make stuff look smooth. I'm not saying that 60 FPS isn't better, because obviously it is.

Ew.... yucky. I never got into the command and conquer series though, just know the memes from it with Tim Curry.

I think you're just used to it, as I am as well. It's also why I've a CRT TV that's heavier then me for my retro rigs, just over all smoother quality and not as hard on the eyes.

Some even got headaches and sick watching Into the Spiderverse, due to how they animated Miles from the start of the movie, using his key frames to set his experience, eventually being smooth at the end of the movie.

Yeah, it was a weird decision tbh. Especially since it is a competitive game too. I don't mind 30 FPS in turn-based JRPGs and such.

It may look smooth TO YOU, as things seem to inexplicably look smooth to james, but that doesn't make it an objective fact.

25fps is not smooth. It has never been smooth.

The 35 doom ran at wasn't either. Particularly after wolfenstein ran at 70.

It's not just about motion. It's about the inputs, the gameplay, everything. Low framerate caps drag ALL of that down.

Which is why komari brought up online lobbies in diablo 2. They help with the godawful single player input issues due to the 25fps cap in single player.

Nope. I use word correctly. Are you say low speed and slow speed are different thing? Please. I have no issue reading, it is you who have issue. Because you can't accept it is the way I write a post. I will not be forced to meeting your own standards

Yeah, usually Command and conquer series were aways locked at 30FPS

Wrong. For some reason they limited the FPS with the tickrate, so in command and conquer generals (zero hour), increasing the "game speed" can increase the fps limit and the tickrate. At 60 FPS the game became 2x faster, the animations are 2x faster, what is not 2x faster? Spam tons of troops in the map to cause fps drop from 60 to 15 FPS due to 32 bit program which can cause crash. Funny moments.
