Can you play smooth 30 fps (like console) on PC?
Well, some games aren´t optimized at all or maybe the graphics card is starting to get old. Sometimes looks like a good idea to cap fps to 30 in order to play like console. However, whenever i cap it to 30 fps, it feels very bad, not like 30 fps on console, even on the same monitor.

So, is there any way to cap PC games at 30 and feel it smooth? I tried adaptative vsync, rivatuner (fps cap, scanline sync x/2, etc), nvidia profile inspector, nvidia control panel and nothing.

No, because 30 FPS isn't smooth.

Did you try locking in 60 if stable in game?

NFS Rivals is capped at 30FPS by default . It s terrible . Yep , there is a fix but i wanna say 30FS is not really smooth .

My NVidia driver allows me to set max frame rate.

Yeah, i know 30 fps aren´t smooth like 60, but i´ve played 30 fps games for years and i didn´t noticed that lack on fluidness.I played Spider-man on PS4 at lauch (when i was already playing games at 60 fps on PC) and the game felt smooth. 30 fps. yes, but smooth.

i always use V-sync On so that there would be no screen tearing .

My experience is that any outside frame rate limit tools cause stutter, it's terrible. Ingame frame limit is alright.

Some games allow such a limit in the game menu but drivers can allow it too . If you re talking about 3rd party applications , you may be right .

adaptive toggles vsync on/off
on when at or above refresh rate, off when below

Tearing is not the issue.

No difference between rtss cap and game cap

i ll risk to become a bore but screen tearing is related to smoothness . if there s no screen tearing , it feels smooth . Of course you should get at least 15FPS in order to feel it any good .

60FPS - 16,6ms to a new frame
55FPS - 18,8ms
50FPS - 20ms
45FPS - 22ms
40FPS - 25ms
35FPS - 28ms
30FPS - 33ms

Try with 40 or 35 FPS, enable G-Sync/FreeSync and NVIDIA's Ultra Low Latency Mode or AMD's Anti-Lag.

I guess it's just because you're used to higher fps, which causes lower latency.

Even old arcade games are 60fps. Better to avoid 30 fps.
24 - 48 fps is just fine
