Will this Asus PCE-AC68 really help my Wi-Fi problems?
According to its advertisements, it's said to clear up dead spaces with a 150% coverage. Now, my Wi-Fi isn't terrible; it's actually pretty good. The problem is the location of my room. The router/modem or whatever is set across from my house and we can't just set the router/modem/whatever in the center of our house. At least, that's not what my parents are planning to do. So, since the router/modem/whatever is across my house, will this Wireless adapter help my weak signal problems, especially when it has antenna mounts on? Also, I think my router is becoming defective. Xfinity just upgraded their wiring and stuff and it's kind of too much for our networking hardware. Do you think we should get this Asus router? [http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2465795,00.asp] Yes, we're rich. We can buy that stuff. I mean, think about it; if we can spend 3,000 dollars on a gaming PC, I'm pretty sure we can dump 200 or so dollars on a high-end router. I like that high-tech :)

run a wire if you can
it will always be faster than wireless

or a good repeater can help with dead spots

a good repeater would be much cheaper than buying that wireless card.

We already have a wireless extender and it still doesn't cut it.

what is your router?
if your current router is draft-N (150mbps max speed local), then get wifi-N (up to 300mbps) or wifi-AC(very expensive)

It's like a Belkin Dual-Band.......this thing ----> [http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F9K1106/]
If you can afford it, Apple AirPort extreme. It has a much higher power output and better antennas than most other off the shelf, home routers. Also it has a powerful processor, so it doesn't choke if for than 5 devices are connected to it like most cheap routers.

Don't even think about a repeater, they drastically reduce your bandwidth. A better option is to run a hard line a nearby location and set up another WAP.
You can also use Kismet to analyze local wireless traffic and find a frequency(channel) with the least amount of traffic (interferance). Remember that wireless bandwidth in general is 20Mhz or 40Mhz, so they will overlap across other channels causing inference. If you can find an optimal channel (frequency) with the least amount of interference, it can greatly improve your range.

or get a pci-e nic with 5ghz (dual band)
fewer devices currently use the 5ghz channels
2.4ghz is currently cluttered by all kinds of stuff
