Just make absolutely sure your PSU can handle it! And it needs to fit in your case ofcourse
It will definitely do a better job, if you own either a much older GPU or if you use the integrated.
Just make sure that 500W PSU is something decent. There are huge differences between a branded one and between a no-name generic piece.
may be pushing whta the amd a10 apu can do
cpu bottleneck will be ok til you upgrade to an i3/i5 build
make sure you have a quality 500w+ power supply

Choose the option "sold by Amazon for £58.99 from the side, not sold by Ballicom.
It's very good quality PSU made by Seasonic.

This card is 11.61" long, make sure you have enough room inside your case.
But instead this "take a good 500w PSU"
I suggest you to look at your 12V output.
It should have atleast 35A.
Yeah good luck trying to run this XFX card with 500W PSU, no matter how good quality it is.
best inexpensive quality 750w is
XFX Pro 750W Power Supply 80 Plus Bronze

xfx550 can do the r9 280
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1750snlb9
It runs even with a 450W PSU.
It depends on your 12V output.
many are overrated or do not have working protections
best example of a poor psu, diablotek 1050 (500w)

Cheap Power supplies tend to have a weak 12V output, but even "quality" ones can have a weak 12V out.
Usually not that weak, but you should look at it not matter how good it is.
Right... people had problems running this even with 600W PSU in AMD build, it's 100W CPU not some Intel CPU that takes almost nothing to run.
