what OS are you using?
what model motherboard is this exactly? So can make proper suggestion for RAM.
I have found plenty of good DDR2 667 and 800 Mhz RAM on Ebay (around $50 or less for set of 2x2GB). Not the best price, but for such old ram, you don't have much choice. As with 1GB RAM, u not going to be playing many games, even with a better GPU.
is it possible that i can use 4 gb ddr3 ram which costs 3k rupees on flipkart indian site and get a good gpu
Ok so motherboard is ECS GeForce6100PM-M2; what Revision is it? This matters, as the specs differ based on this. On the motherboard itself, look in the right corner of the CPU socket, the revision is printed there. Example V2.0 or V3.0
No you can't use DDR3, it is a different slot/pin-out compared to DDR2.
On your board, the max supported ram is 4GB total (2GB max per slot) at up to DDR2-800Mhz.

please help any body help
DDR2 is kinda expensive considering what you'd be getting; and you're basically limited in what you can install; 2x 2GB would be the max.
With that said, that all kinda limits what GPU would help your gaming experience. As anything too high end be bottle-necked by that CPU. Highest GPUs I would suggest are GTX 660 Ti or GTX 750 Ti.
What Power Supply does the system have?
will an ati hd 7770/7790 will be enough to max out the games with 4 gb ram and this processor
If going for a new GPU to get away from using the onboard GeForce 6150; I'd suggest GTX 750 Ti 2GB or AMD R9 270 2GB. Anything beyond that would just be wasted.
cpu-amd athlon 7750 2.70 ghz
gpu-nvidia gtx 750 ti or amd r9 270 2gb (tell me which is cheaper)
ram-4gb ddr2
mobo-nvidia geforce 6100 PM-M2
good enough to run the games at mid-high??
As far as game visual quality, that depends on the game in question. Some games are really CPU intensive, while others just rely alot more on GPU performance.
Here is a good set of RAM I found on Ebay, $22
Corsair XMS DDR2, 2x2GB, 800MHz, 5-5-5-18, 1.8V

GTX660 non ti is more what you should target if you're going to upgrade.
Mafia2 will run horrible on the lower end 7770 even on my 6870 it runs like crap but my old GTX280 antique card ran it well Mafia 2 likes NVidia cards.
That mobo chipset is trash and will shave off performance, also the 3 boards with that chipset sitting on my shelf are pci e 1.0 and some are pci e x4 1.0. The cpu, I had a x2 5600 and x2 6000 they fell way behind on the gaming front yrs ago the amd 7750 is in the same class of pointless.
Get the ram and GTX660 but don't expect too much to run mid high at 1080p.
The PCI Express x16 slot is used to install an external PCI Express
graphics card that is fully compliant to the PCI Express Base Specification
revision 1.1.
Out of your manual 1.1 . ^
