Motherboard DOA?
I just built a new budget system and when I turn it on the fans and lights come on, but not the bios nor do i hear beeps. I bench tested it with only the cpu, mobo, psu. And with the cpu, mobo, psu, and gpu since the 760k doesn't have graphics. All of these test however have the same result. I tested the psu with another pc and it works flawlessly. Unsure about the ram, but I am certain I would have heard a beep. The gpu is also tested and functioning. So it only comes down to the cpu and mobo. I honestly think its the mobo since I got it for a cheap 50 bucks and reviews on newegg state alot about DOAs. If thats the case I'll return the mobo and get a new one any advice on fm2/fm2+ mobos?

Spec

Motherboard: ga-f2a55-hd2
RAM: Crucial 4gb 1 stick 1600 mhz
GPU: GTX 750 ti

ALL new

Do you know what BIOS rev is installed on the motherboard? Do you have the power cable plugged into the motherboard for the CPU aux power?

I have the 24 pin and 8 pin connectors pluged in and my revision is 3.0.
you'll need the ram in too or nothing will happen

a hdd wouldn't go astray either

I tried that also and nothing. And most motherboards make a beep indicating missing or disfuctional ram

Could it be possible that the bios version i have is less than f4 and can't support my cpu?

Well, not exacly. They'll only make a beep if you have a motherboard speaker plugged in.

possible yes but not critical; can't support unlikely.

i would say finish the circuit & then evaluate.

it should support it enough to flash bios for proper support

if you have a pc speaker plugged in, and no bios beeps or post, then the mobo is dead

That's the rev of the motherboard, not the BIOS. It appears that motherboard has supported that CPU since the FB BIOS version. You may have a dead motherboard.

To be sure if your motherboard is still in good working condition, remove the memory sticks and power on the PC.

You should hear continuous beep sounds.

If you hear this then your motherboard is fine. If it doesn't, then consider returning that board as faulty under your warranty.

Yeah I'm not gettin any beeps and I've made sure the speaker is plugged in. Well geuss I'll try a msi board.
All this info; yet I see nothing about "RESET CMOS" being suggested.
Anytime u get a board, this is the first thing to do.

And if you only use 1x RAM; check the manual because often times it must be in a certain slot when u only install 1.

Also that CPU does not have an onboard GPU, so make sure your display is plugged into the GTX 750! And make sure the 750 is seated fully and has the PCI-E power plug(s) connected (if it has any).

I've already tried cmos reset and have tried placing the ram in both slots

Ok...

and the Display? It is plugged into the NVIDIA GPU Card, correct?

Not sure what else would be though. Did u test it all outside of the case?

If were me I would just return the board back to seller. But speak with place-of-purchase too, see what they say.

If u need a good alternate suggestion; either of these would be much better choice.
