Power supply making 'sizzling' sound...
I recently put together a budget gaming PC and at first I thought the hard drive was kinda loud, but on closer inspection, I realized that those hard-drive-like sounds were in fact coming from the PSU and were more a kind of 'sizzle' or a faint arcing type of sound like that of a kettle lead that's only half plugged in. Of course I checked the back power lead connection and that was OK. It's puzzling because it comes and goes. It most commonly occurs shortly after boot up, but can kick off anytime really. It's not that loud but at the same time it's loud enough that I'm aware of it. I've heard that capacitors can whine and hiss during normal operation and I'm wondering if this 'sizzle' is just a normal capacitor noise or whether it's something to be concerned about.

see if you can record it
it could be coil whine which is normal for some
or it could be parts exploding/burning

It might be the power cable if it does not fit right you might have to buy anthere cable or use a old one to see if it fits right in the power socket on the PSU.
