Sony UWA-BR100 somehow works without drivers now? Seems to be using the TP-LINK dongle drivers I installed for the tp link dongle?
Today I plugged it in for fun and somehow it actually works now.

It says it's using the tp link drivers but I can't say for sure if it's the tp link dongle I have, but it sure seems like it.

Used to be you could not use the device except for in linux as a few years ago, drivers were impossible to acquire or install.

What OS are you using now? And what OS were you using before when it didn't work without it drivers?

Far as I know Windows 10 searches for a large range of drivers automatically, or has some of them pre-installed.

Quick question did you just uninstall the software for this, or did you go into the device manager to remove it?

I did nothing. Well, the last time I used it was on a different install.

If the driver was still installed in the device manager, then it should work alright, because the software help to detect it on your OS, and software can also update the device, but don't always need them, unless it need the software to function, which not a lot of devices need them. For example look at your mouse, it didn't need a software to get detected, and the only way to uninstall it or to stop it to work is to remove it drivers from the device manager.

There are a crap load of brands... not so much when comes to Chipsets.
Many will use the same chipset. Look how many Motherboard there are, brands, models; notice how 90% of them use Realtek HD Audio... yea same driver :steammocking:
