Is intel i5 6200U faster than AMD A8 6410 or are they both the same?
I figured I would ask out here because the people here seem smarter in this subject.

Also is the AMD A8 capable of running the same games as the other intel i5?

6th gen i5 u will beat the amd quad like a redheaded step child

both are basically a dual core
i5 mobile is dual core with ht
a8 apu is 2 modules, each with 2 cores (amd core pairs work slower than one similar clocked intel core)

only thing better on the apu is its gpu, but thats not far off either from the skylake intel hd

Intel CPU is much faster. No, even MUCH faster. A8-6410 is Atom-grade CPU for lowest level subnotebooks. It has low-performance Jaguar microarchitecture and suitable only for browsing and office apps.

It has Jaguar architecture, not FX. Thus, it has 4 real cores, but cores are extremely weak (up to 2 IPC).

its still 2 modules sharing resources, no match for a skylake dual core mobile cpu with ht

even on the link
Overall, the APU offers a performance similar to a Haswell-based Pentium or Core i3 (ULV). Nonetheless, the A8-6410 will be sufficient for all daily workloads like Office, Internet browsing and multimedia.
i3 ulv = mobile or ultra low voltage i3

Jaguar isn't module-based. And there are no shared resources in this CPU (cache, except L0/L1, not counted as core resource in CPU design. L0 is uop, TLB or loop cache). It closer to Pentium II (namely II, not even Pentium III or later).
