Razer surround software problem

Hi guys and grills!

So after my recent Windows 10 update my audio totaly died on my computer. I checked my sound settings and everything seemed to be okey even if there were no sound.

If i played any sound the razer surround audio controller showed that something was was playing (that green thing you see when a sound is playing) but nothing was coming out in my headset.

I then disabled The Razer Surround Controller (https://gyazo.com/a3823d01d8ba39315aa5784d80be8120) and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sound came out of my headset not worth playing any games on.....

Can someone help me please? Im totally lost in this case since Razers support is ♥♥♥♥.

The problem seems to be unsolved at the moment, but the fastest solution to make it working again is to restart the "RzSurroundVADStreamingService" service

YOu can do a clean install of win 10 after upgrading. First do the update let it reboot and activate then will a win 10 disk you can do a clean install.

Yea thats doesn't have anything to do with this thread. Are you sure you post this in the correct one?

If you mean the 1607 Update; that resets the OS settings. It is essentially a whole new OS.

Redo all your hardware drivers by removing them, rebooting as needed. Download and install all the latest ones from the chipset makers.

I think your first post suggests that.

OP did an upgrade, I said do clean install, upgrades always have old traces of previous OS

So i got this email from Razer today;

"Hi Fredrik,

Sorry to hear that you aren't able to fix your audio issues. Please try the following method to see if it repairs your audio, and if it does, you can use this as a quick fix:

Install and configure Razer surround. The 'Enable Virtual Audio Device' option should be selected in Surround.
Press Windows Key+R
Type: 'services.msc' and press enter
Find 'Razer Surround Audio Service,' right click on it, and restart it.
Your audio should come back after a short delay.

I emailed them back and told them that it is probably that W10 update that screwed everything up, so we will see if they will respond to me

Once the Update is applied (1607) then you just redo all your Drivers and it should be fine.
As that is basically needed since after 1607 update, your Win10 is all fresh again, everything is defaults again. But the existing files/apps are still present. Because that was an OS Build Update; that is why the Drivers need to be uninstalled and re-done.

The problem is that I have a laptop, so I dont really have any cds for the drivers and Im not feeling 100% safe about downloading from the internet

CDs? Never need those, you download all the drivers from the chipset makers sites.
Or the Laptop maker's site. How the heck else you gonna get them?

I have a Hauppauge TV tuner card. In order to run their WinTV software, you need to put the original CD in the drive that comes with the card if you want to load or update the software. There are always exceptions to any rule when and why you need an optical drive.

If you really need an Optical Drive, just get a USB DVDRW and you're covered in that regard. As with build high end gaming systems nowa days; it can be much more appealing to get a Case that doesn't have any 5.25 bay; cause those then would usually allow for better Fan or Radiator options without those bays being there.
