I recently bought some Razer Kraken headphones, and I can't hear the chat audio, I can hear my game but not the chat.
And I've checked on Skype too, that doesn't work either

And yes, It's plugged in correctly

Try this.

Right-click on your speaker tray icon, select playback devices. Then right-click on your headphones and set them to your default communication device.

Already did that.

First, fully exit out of any app that use Audio. For apps such as Skype of Steam Client, they will auto-minimize-to-taskbar (next to clock) right click those and click Exit to fully close them.

Then go to the Windows Playback/Recording > right click the device you wish to use as default > Apply the two defaults to that device.

> Default Device
> Default Comms Device

Then go into the Recording tab and apply both of those defaults also to your Headset Mic.

Under the Communications tab at top; select "Do Nothing"

Click OK out of that screen.

Now launch your Apps, such as Skype, Steam, etc...

In apps such as Skype, TeamSpeak, Discord; these have their own Audio Config Settings area; so double check all of that. As those types of apps have their own settings that can be applied just for that app, independent of whatever you have already setup in Windows Playback/Recording. But Apps such as Steam Client, rely on using the Windows Playback/Recording settings.

Also under Playback/Recording, double check your Levels tab (Volumes) for the various devices. The Level tab under Recording > Mic would be the Recording Volume for that Mic Device.

If you are using Voice within a game, check the game settings > VoIP

Seriously, it is a Razer product, return it and go buy an actual decent quality headset.

Yeah I can't actually return it unless something's wrong with it (Company Policy) and I actually bought the Razer Krakens to replace my Turtle Beach z60s (which I had to replace 3 times due to the headset being faulty) so I just gave up and bought these because everyone told me they were good. And so far the sound quality has been really good (better than my old Turtle Beach Z60s)

Where did you buy it from? You should be able to refund, regardless of reasons, most areas/regions have laws that protect the consumer properly to allow you to do just that.

Turtle Beach, Razer... avoid all those.

What is your budget for a Headset w/ Mic?

I bought it from JB Hi-Fi (Australian) and my budget is $150
I know it's not the best headset, but I just feel it would be easier just to fix this problem than returning them and buying a new pair. I've had to do it 3 times before (as previously stated) and I really don't feel like doing that again.

Plus I'm too young to get a drivers license (Let alone buying a car) and the store is too far to get to by bike. I'd have to go by bus, which also costs money and I'm a jobless slob so.. yeah.

Contact Razer Support; thats what Support/Warranty is for.

If you want to trouble shoot it yourself, start by uninstalling any other Audio Device, so your Headset is the only active audio device, then go from there.
alright thanks

Update your audio driver for whatever your systems audio you have.
Since analog headsets/speakers would use that device.

What OS and Audio Device (Onboard Sound or Sound Card) are you using?
If do not know for sure, and you are using the Audio onboard the Motherboard, then what is the Motherboard brand + model# ? As the onboard devices can easily to identified from the motherboard model.

If using Case Front Audio I/O ports and the device is not showing up, try the ones in the Rear of the system

I'm using the onboard sound and the motherboard is a Gigabyte H170-D3H

and they're already plugged into the back because the front ones don't work (cause I'm too lazy to wire them xD

Yes update your audio driver and then reboot when it has completed.

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads
Click > High Definition Audio Codecs (Software)
Then click Agree and OK, then download driver based on your installed OS

Still not working, I'll contact Razer about this.
