ASUS Strix GTX 1060 external fan control - anyone?
I have an issue: when i'm playing with ARK, the external case fans (thx to Asus FanConnect), actually 2 in front, 1 top and 1 rear fan, are switching ON/OFF with 5-10 seconds interval. It's really disturbing. I don't mind if all of the fans working during game, but this ON-OFF intervals make me mad. With the Asus Tweak you have 3 options (speed / °C), but you can not control the external fans.
Can you guys help me? Any idea? Thx.:BOpeasant:

what kind of motherboard you have? in my opinion, i wouldn't use those pins on the gpu for chassis fans.. depending on your board, i would put them on the motherboard and use the bios to control them. on my motherboard i can control every fan and set the fan percent based on system temperature.
okay, that is one point. but I like to use my PC as quiet as possible. for example: i can play LOL without sound. only my PSU's fan produces noise. So. Btw i've got the cheapest 1150 Motherboard :D H81M-VG4

the only other suggestion i have is to try and set a fan curve in the software.. i think the way asus made this feature is the external pwm fans basically run at the same duty cycle as the gpu fan... at least that is my guess.. so what is happening is when you game, the temp/duty cycle of the gpu is changing (heating up and cooling) and it's also changing and sycning those settings to the external pwm outs to match the GPU which is why you keeping hearing them rev up/down. it seems like a flaw.. they should have implemented two fan curve profiles.. one for gpu and another for external fans.

so.. as a workaround, i would suggest taking the gpu fan setting off "auto" and manually setting a fan curve so the fan on the gpu are consistent... this should also apply the same settings to the ext. fans.. that is my theory anyway..

Just don't even use ASUS GPU Tweak, try MSI Afterburner, which works with basically any AMD/NVIDIA GPU out there.

this is very right
thx for the ideas, but: the external case fans can not be controlled via gpu tweak. they switch on at exactly 60 °C. :steamsad:

Buy 2 in 1 fan splitters or connect them via molex, in my opinion a GPU should not affect, determine the cases airflow.

Install Motherboard Software and MSI Afterburner; then all your fans can be manually controlled via Software.

You control GPU by software, it won't work any other way.
