Why is my VDSL internet not that fast?
I've had VDSL for quite a while now, and it's faster than my old ADSL but not by much. I searched up the average download speed and it says that VDSL should be 15-70 Mbps download speed. I'm shocked by seeing this as my download speed is only 4 pushing 5. I'm using an Ethernet cable for my PC so I'm wondering what's wrong.

Disregarding the theoretical speed of VDSL, what is the service plan you're actually paying for?

I would contact your ISP. But it all varies on distance and what speeds your provider allows. I'm on VDSL and get around 80Mb/s but when I first got it, it was 10MB/s. It turned out that the line going into my home we corroded.

I mean the bandwidth the plan provides.

I think he/she meant what speeds does your ISP say you should get?
Well it's unlimited data, but I can't remember the speed it said I should be getting.

Then you better call your ISP on the phone to verify and check for any potential issues. You don't want your money go into the gutter for no reason.
Just did the speed test, I got 36 Mbps download speed. Now I'm wondering why when I download something it only goes up to 4 Mbps.

Are you talking about downloads on Steam? Steam shows downloads in MBps, not Mbps.

Wait so 36 mbps is equivalent to around 4 MBps?

Well, 3.6, but with overheads you may get a full 4MB/s. But that is still very slow, and only a little over 10mbs (1MB/s) faster than standard ADSL2
