NVIDIA Control Panel 'Access Denied'
I get a message when trying to apply things in NVIDIA Control Panel. It says 'Access Denied' followed by 'Failed to apply selected settings to your system'. Anyone have a fix? Just happened all of a sudden despite a week ago me having done a bunch of things on it no problem. I'm getting so fed up with NVIDIA. I can't get new drivers either because I get NVIDIA Installer Failed no matter what I do

Very weird sorry to hear, never heard of this happening and drivers didn't just get updated so there's no widespread reported driver bugs or anything. Did you uninstall drivers via windows device manager and just download the driver from nvidia site as an zip and or exe setup file? I would avoid updates, rollbacks or using geforce experience or any software and do it the old fashioned way and enjoy a low resolution screen for half an hour while you just manually install a driver from scratch. uninstall everything nvidia first though, drivers and programs.

It won't let me uninstall them unfortunately. Didn't know you could download them as a zip though. I'll look into it a bit more. Thanks!
Yep. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

So, just to be sure..... you tried booting into safe mode, then opening device manager through windows settings( through the tab on win 7 or 8 or just type " device manager" in win 10 settings search bar), then went to display adapter, double clicked into it then hit unistall and checked the box saying uninstall this device and driver software...... and then it somehow didn't let you proceed with the uninstall?

Oops, I tried it from Add Remove Programs. I have used DDU to completely remove all drivers though and it still didn't work then. Should I still try your fix?

I've never used DDU so not sure if this will have a better chance of working, but might as well try my fix, I mean your games are going to become worse and worse without driver updates and not being able to adjust settings is a huge issue. Worst case scenario is you won't be able to install the new gpu driver because the device isnt identified or detected and you will be stuck with motherboard video adapter, in which in that case you will have to start far over with reinstalling windows. Sounds bad, but if your gpu is gimped now basically, you might as well put some frustrating yet worthwile time into fixing it. Reinstalling windows isn't too bad especially with win 10. ( I'm not assuming you don't necessarily know how, just trying to help if you don't) Plenty of guides though online for doing so if you need some help, or people here can walk you through it to be as painless as possible.

Thanks for the help, appreciate it. Will give it a shot.
Try turning off your anti-virus program before you install Nvidia driver

Sounds to me like you have other PC issues causing your problems.
