Do i need a Fan Control Program? (Win10)

Hi to all.

1st of all, these r my PC's spec's:

Mobo: Asus Maximus Hero VI (Z87 chipset)
CPU: i7 4770K w. Coolermaster V4 GTS CPU Cooler
RAM: 16gb (2x8gb) Corsair Vengence
GPU: R9 270X 2gb Gigabyte (upgrading very soon)
C:Drive: 500gb Samsung 850 EVO
E:Drive: 1tb WD Black 7200rpm
PSU: 750w 80p Bronze Corsair MPSU

I was running Win7 & using AI Suite 3 just to control my CPU fan's, but now i've changed to Win10 & have read online that AI Suite 3 won't work properly with Win10.

What i'm wondering is, can i just leave fan control upto my mobo, or would i b better off installing a dedicated fan control program?

I'm in Australia & it's getting closer to summer here (which gets very hot), so i'm thinking i should work this out sooner rather than later.

Use HWMonitor to watch your temps and use prime95 to stress the machine, if everything is fine, then leave it be.

Just use PWM fans . Since there is no need to do anything on your end.

You can easily set up fan control in BIOS on that Mobo

AI Suite 3 works fine with Win 10.

no point in using any software to control the fans

use the mobo bios settings for pwm fans
or get a hardware fan controller

PWM Fans + Don't limit the RPMs in the BIOS with any sort of % profile; all the fan 100% freedom; then with a 4pin PWM fan, the BIOS will auto adjust PWM fans rpms base around loads/temps or Ambient Temp and CPU Temp.

@ MancSoulja: what chipset is ur Mobo? My copy of AI Suite 3 has 4-Way Optimization not 5-Way like in the pic u posted.

The Coolermaster V4 GTS cooler comes with PWM fans.

My Mobo is a Skylake one, Maximus VIII Hero, You could always try downloading that version of AI Suite from the ASUS website.

The icon is just one that I've picked up somewhere, I have a folder full of them, I can upload it somewhere if you'd like a copy xD

Ah, ok, thats a different chipset so i might not work on my mobo.

Thanks for the Firefox Icon offer, but the only shortcut i have on my desktop is the Recycle Bin, so that my wallpapers look nice & neat.
