tried clean windows install too
Windows 10 22H2 (in update form) is mostly just an over-haul of Security Updates. It changes very little if anything about the Core OS / Features as a whole. As Win10 support has been change and will now only get annual (once per year) large over-haul updates like this. DirectWrite will be added to Win10 very soon. After this Win10 is basically done as far as any real changes to features goes.
I'd have thought the same, yet the audio seemed to work before the feature update was installed.
Let me know if you need an ISO for the full 21H2
Even with a fresh and clean install of 22H2, it has delivered me a few BSOD's already. The last BSOD's I had gotten were within the Windows XP era.. Also features are removed, it has stability issues and other problems...
I have also gotten these sound issues. One time they are high in great quality, other time low and in bad quality. I dont know what Microsoft had thought to release such an unstable crap...
22H2 does Not suck for 10 and 11
Then reboot and clean install your Drivers.
22H2 is a "Major Update" and can be seen as a brand new version/release. Clean installs are recommended. I have used Windows since ~1991 (Windows 3.x/3.11x)..
I have reported you!!
And you just need to take a look within the Windows Feedback Hub to check all instability issues and problems people do have with this 22H2 "release" from around the world..

P.s.:
Try to add multiple E-Mail accounts (hotmail/outlook) in Windows Mail. It wont work, especially with 2FA enabled, unless you do a fix which I had posted within the Feedback Hub.
I use many hotmail and outlook accounts at once, and this is hella annoying, so are you..
To avoid all the MS BS issues with it, better off just logging into them via Private Browser.
Up to Windows 7, I have used the Browser version of course.
I have also used the Taskbar on top since Windows 3.x. For more than 3 decades.. as Windows' Taskbar ever been on top, but changed with Windows 95 back in time. Taskbar was then introduced on bottom.
This 22H2 forces me to use this
But besides all serious issues this 22H2 has, that Taskbar issue is a minor problem.. I cant recommend using 22H2 until all major issues have been fixed.
Just a few days ago 22H2 got a "unscheduled" update to fix this performance issue which had appeared by copying larger files.
Also 22H2 has an "omni-present" and active Edge running. In the auto-start options, you need to disable it. Sux..
Windows Photos wont close after you opened it in 22H2. A background process will still run..
I could continue this messy list here.. heck, and not to mention again random BSOD's happening, after nearly 20 years.
22H2 is in no way "ready" to be rolled-out for "live machines"..
